Independent Midwifery can offer you the freedom to shape your pregnancy and birth in a way that truly fits your life. Whether you’re planning a home birth or hospital birth, I can support you every step of the way.
You might choose to have care with me alongside your NHS team, if you’d like extra reassurance and continuity. Or, I can provide full independent care, a calm, unhurried, and personal service built entirely around you and your preferences.
If needed, I’ll also liaise with your local NHS trust to keep everything seamless and connected.
Continuity of care with an Independendent Midwife can be especially helpful if:
- You’ve experienced a difficult birth, trauma or loss before
- You’re feeling anxious or need more emotional support
- You’re a first-time mum planning a homebirth or low-risk pregnancy
- You’ve had a positive homebirth experience before and you want that again for this birth
- You feel unsure about booking with the NHS
- You have cultural, religious, or language needs that haven’t been well supported before
- You’d prefer a private, bespoke, woman-centred personalised approach to your care
- You work shifts and prefer evening or weekend appointments to work around you and your commitments
- You’d simply feel more comfortable having your care at home surrounded and supported by your family.

My name is Laura, and I have been a Midwife for 5 years now. I have worked in the Maternity world for over 9 years, so I am well experienced in my role.
I am registered with the NMC and the RCN and I am a NIPE trained practitioner. I am also trained in Hypnobirthing and a qualified 3 Step Rewind practitioner. I have worked previously as an NHS Midwife but I didn't feel thats where my true calling was, I have also worked privately and now I am working Independently.
I have my own life experience of pregnancy and birth, I have 2 daughters who are grown up now and who both came with very different but challenging pregnancy and birth stories. It is my own stories that have fuelled my passion to become a midwife and ensure every woman is seen, heard and held throughout her pregnancy and birth journey.
My ethos is ensuring all women recieve continuity-of-care and feel involved in every aspect of their care, offering calm, connection and real choice, by being your advocate this gives you the courage and confidence to have a say in how your care is delivered whilst still recieving upto date evidence-based advice, nurturing, guidance and support from me throughout.

"Reassured Me"
"Laura was my Midwife with my youngest child and the only word I can use for Laura is phenomenal - she was absolutely amazing with me as I had a difficult pregnancy and was always worried. Laura reassured me in my appointments and communications through messages, that all seems ok at the present time. She was understanding, patient and available when needed. I couldn't recommend Laura any more if I tried. Absolutely amazing Midwife and person
